Zombie Hunter Finale: An Explosive Ending
The last time we saw our heroes, the Marksman, deep in a mine shaft while in pursuit of the Boogeyman, crosses the path of the Zombie Hunter who was using the mine to evade a horde of the undead. The duo join together to fight their way out of the mine, but as the heroes strive against the zombies, the Boogeyman stalks his prey…

“Here goes nothing,” says the Zombie Hunter, squeezing the trigger of his shotgun. A cloud of grapeshot tears into the Boogeyman. The Marksman discovered over various campaigns hunting the Boogeyman that conventional weapons were not the most efficient in injuring the Boogeyman, and that blessing his weapons was the answer to truly wounding the Boogeyman. However, this doesn’t mean that regular buckshot didn’t hurt.
The Boogeyman screeches and turns his attention to the Zombie Hunter.
“Man,” groans the Zombie Hunter, racking another round in the chamber. The Zombie Hunter’s shot also draws the attention of the Marksman who, seeing the Boogeyman charging the Zombie Hunter, turns and gives chase. He raises his crossbow and fires a pair of crossbow bolts that bury into the Boogeyman’s back and hamstring. The magical bolts immediately cause the Boogeyman to burst into flames. The Boogeyman stumbles, tumbling across the dusty floor of the cavern, its mouth agape bellowing and screaming. The Boogeyman takes off running rabidly around the cavern, the fire crawling all over its skin spreading to other undead. The fire continues to spread through the legion of the undead like a virus.
“We need to get out of here,” yells the Marksman. The Zombie Hunter nods his head in agreement while simultaneously using his shotgun to create a ghoul canoe, blasting a hole through the head of a hideous zombie. The Marksman loads a crossbow bolt and fires it into an oncoming wave of undead. The bolt strikes the first body and lighting tendrils wrap around it, then jumping to the next zombie, the next, and then the next, creating a chain of lightning that cuts a path through the onslaught. The two heroes seize their chance, dashing through the downed bodies toward the tunnel leading to the entrance. The Marksman leads through the hall, the Zombie Hunter following close behind. The moans of the undead echo off the walls, urging the heroes to continue to run. The duo reaches a rise that leads to the mouth of the mine. The Marksman stops.
“We’ll blow up these supports here, it will collapse the mine trapping them down here,” explains the Marksman. “You start with those three,” says the Marksman, pointing back down the shaft, “and I’ll get these three.”
The heroes frantically working, the Zombie Hunter sets out three sticks of dynamite, setting them all together. The Marksman simply nails a small leather bag, about the size of a coin purse to the second of the three mine shaft supports. The Marksman walks out the mouth of the mine, the Zombie Hunter lights the fuse and is following behind when suddenly a force grabs him from behind. He rolls over and comes face-to-face with the dagger-like jaws of the Boogeyman. The Zombie Hunter holds the Boogeyman by the throat, struggling to keep the gnashing jaws from latching onto his face.
“HURRY!” yells, the Marksman, watching the Zombie Hunter’s fuse quickly burn away with his crossbow shouldered, ready to fire a shot to set off his set of explosives. No matter how hard the Zombie hunter struggles, however, he cannot get free from the otherworldly strength of this monstrosity. The Marksman then alters his aim, firing a bolt into the wall of the mine adjacent to where the Zombie Hunter is struggling with the Boogeyman. The bolt explodes, the concussion blowing both of them apart and against the opposite wall. The Zombie Hunter seizes the opportunity and runs toward the entrance, the Marksman firing his second bolt at his bag of explosives. Both sets go off simultaneously, the ceiling of the mine rumbling and then collapsing.

The Marksman and the Zombie Hunter sit looking at the collapsed mouth of the mine silently.
“Well, I guess that’s the end we’ll see of him,” comments the Zombie Hunter, breaking the silence.
“No,” replies the Marksman, “He will always find a way to come back.”
